Portrait of Gloria Villanueva, taken 2010 See BIO below, in Memory Book VILLANUEVA Gloria Penaluna Villanueva (b.1929) was born in Seattle, the seventh of eleven children in her family. Her family lived in several different Seattle neighborhoods while she was growing up. She started school in Interbay, which was like a small town in those days. She attended just one year of high school at Garfield, then had to quit to help care for younger brothers and sisters, as her mother was ill. Gloria came to Fall City because her family lived across the street from Sotero Estepa's sister in Seattle. When Sotero started the farm in Fall City, Gloria's brother came out to work, and said she should come too. At the farm she met Danny Villanueva. They married in 1945 and Gloria has lived in Fall City since then, now with children and grandchildren. |
