  2. Play dress w/ bloomers, Artie Kelley, Fall City - Girl's play dress with bloomers. Cotton. Dress: orange and blue print dress with v-neck and a drop waist, pleated skirt and black trim at collar and sleeves. Bloomers: fine white cotton in upper portion, and orange and blue print cotton making up the crotch and legs. Bloomers have straight legs extending to below the knee, with thin elastic at waistband and openings of legs. A black french knot on the waistband marks the back of the garment.

  6. Possible Needle Cases, Fall City - Two knitted objects, with crocheted trim on one, were found in the wooden desk belonging to the Jack and Hattie Bush family, early 1900s. See images. Appear to have been made to be used "folded". Use unknown. Possibly needle cases? Both approx. 3.5-4 inches long and 2 inches wide when folded. One (without crocheted trim) is pink and green; the other is red and yellow, with two red ribbons on "spine" for trim. Assume the yarn is wool, but not certain.

  10. Purse c1830, Carolyn Hume, Mecie Burns' mother, Fall City - Carolyn Hume's purse, which was given to her by an uncle in c1830. Caroline was Mecie Hume Burns' mother, Artie Kelley's grandmother. Purse is brown leather, on a metal frame, approx 3.5 inches wide. Metal snap fastening at the top allows two compartments, one on each side, to be opened separately. Some repair has been done at the bottom.

Mechanical doll with plastic limbs and metal body belonging to Artie Kelley, has mechanism to be wound with a key at right side and roll while standing on skates on bottoms of shoes. It appears that arms would also swing when wound up. Metal body is fastened with metal clamps, and plastic arms are also supported by metal supports. Legs have cotton socks resting on tops of red metal shoes. Plastic molded head with painted features.

  18. Samples of handwork done by Artie Kelley - Several handwork samples, done (or collected) by Artie Kelley. Embroidery, crochet, etc. Many types of handwork represented...all clean and in fairly good shape. See descriptions below, with related image numbers. Image 1, top: 15-inch square, cotton center, "open work" trim around edges. Image 1, bottom: Table runner, 17 x 52 inches. Linen body with "raised" embroidery design (water lilies?) on ends. No holes, but some small brown stains. (See images 11 and 12 for condition details.) Image 2: 16-inch round cloth with "butterfly" raised embroidery around edges. Good but a couple of small stains. Image 3: Two round doilies, linen centers, with crocheted trim. Image 4: Table runner, 17 x 54 inches, linen with crocheted insets and trim. Several small holes and a few stains. (See images 9 and 10 for condition details.) Image 5: "hot pad" for table, crocheted, with plastic rings to give thickness. Images 6, 7: two arm rest covers and a chairback antimacacassar, crocheted. Image 8: Butterfly design "hot pad"? Not very thick, but could be used to pick up warm items.
